MODULAR VESSELS - MODULAR SELF PROPELLED CARGO FUEL / DECK CARGO VESSELS

Triton has developed a series of Modular Self Propelled Cargo Barges/Vessels for both River / Inland application and Sea Going application. These vessels are offered on a turn-key basis by Triton, by teaming up with Nicos Engineering for the Fabrication, and Hydro Armor for the Propulsion.

These vessels pictured here are designed such that they can be remanufactured in their entirety and then shipped in modules to virtually any destination via containership and container truck, and then assembled and commissioned onsite.

They are designed to carry liquid cargo as well as deck cargo. The latter either being loose or palleted deck cargo or vehicles. The inner pontoons are designed as liquid cargo tanks for either fuel or water, and equipped with all the necessary cargo pumping facilities for loading and offloading.
The vessels are also equipped with either bow or side ramps as per client requirements.

Their propulsion is by way of Hydro Armor deck mounted Powerpacks, and stern mounted rudder propellers. These thrusters are lift-able, trim-able and steer-able.

In the case of the 450t barge (larger vessel), the limited draft in the area of application has dictated that four thrusters (with smaller propellers) be driven by two 680HP powerpacks. An added advantage of this arrangement is that the vessel can be driven downstream on one engine and two thrusters, or a propeller can be replaced (by lifting and trimming the thruster) whilst the vessel is still underway on two or three other thrusters, hence reducing the downtime. Different size Hydro Armor Power Packs/ Thruster combinations can be accommodated as per clients requirements.

The larger vessel in picture can take 450tonnes of cargo in way of 529Cub.m. of Cargo Fuel, or 450tonnes of Deck Cargo or combination thereof. It also has accommodation for nine. One Capt and eight crew, arranged with separate captains quarters and 2x4man cabins, complete with galley and mess facilities.

The next size has a carrying capacity of 200t by similar configuration carrying either Fuel or Water (and then plumbed accordingly). The smallest vessel having a 100tonne carrying capacity. Both these smaller vessels share the same deskhouse design, and have accommodation for four crew, complete with galley and mess facilities. Other client specific accommodation requirements can also be met.

Triton offers these vessels on a turn-key basis with all fabrication, and outfitting of modular units done in Cape Town, and then shipped, assembled and commissioned onsite.
