Triton has a longstanding history of involvement in some of the world’s most ambitious marine mining projects. From floating mineral separation plants to advanced material handling barges and mooring systems, our engineering expertise covers the full lifecycle of floating and shore-connected marine mining infrastructure.
Our multidisciplinary team has been responsible for concept design, detailed engineering, structural analysis, buoyancy and stability calculations, and fabrication-ready documentation for projects operating in some of the most remote and challenging coastal environments on the planet.
Projects
KENMARE WCP-B Floating Plant

The material handling plant, designed by BMH Sweden, was integrated into the Triton-designed barge to form a complete marine logistics solution.
Working with Aker Solutions and later E-PC, Triton provided full structural and hydrodynamic design for all floating and supporting structures
Coral Sea Mooring Upgrade

Triton was engaged by IHC/MMP to design vessel modifications enabling the transition from chain to high-capacity wire mooring systems. We completed the full structural design, analysis, and fabrication documentation
Moma Transhipment Barge

Commissioned by a joint venture between Bateman BV and Multiplex, Triton designed a fully self-sufficient transhipment barge to support the export of titanium-based raw products from the Moma mine. Classed by ABS and built at ASL Shipyards (Singapore), the barge features:
RBM Plant A Extension & Plant E Development

Triton provided full stability and mooring calculations during development of the Mandena floating plant under contract with Hatch. The site’s sensitive ecological surroundings and remote location made robust and reliable engineering critical.
Mandena Plant – Madagascar

Triton provided full stability and mooring calculations during development of the Mandena floating plant under contract with Hatch. The site’s sensitive ecological surroundings and remote location made robust and reliable engineering critical.
NAMDEB Modular Pontoon – Namibia

For Anglo American’s Namdeb operation, Triton delivered a structurally modular pontoon to be fabricated in Johannesburg and assembled in Oranjemund. Our scope included:
- Modular structural design
- Buoyancy, freeboard, and stability assessments based on client-supplied load data
